BURBERRY

Catching up with the AW13 Milan shows and seeing them documented and spoken about upon a smattering of blogs it is the Burberry show that grabbed my attention most profoundly. First and foremost I think I find more satisfaction watching menswear shows as they just seem so much more simplistic, the emphasis more clearly on simply exhibiting the clothes. I don't know I just prefer it. I also love thinking if my boyfriend had that I would so totally steal it!
Watching the Burberry show on their website I was first struck by the overwhelming desire to laugh at the completely ridiculously juxtaposing nature of the audiences phone/tablet/iPad screen lights against the old century esque London feel that was going on behind. I know it happens at every show but this time it sent me over the edge!

Anyway the beautifully cut trench coats and top coats in the lovely muted hues that Burberry are famed for were amazing as always. I'm still in two minds about the intimate mixture of leopard print lining the coats and featured on the sunglasses the models wore. I think it looks great in certain contexts however the full leopard print trench was a definite no no for me. It was a little overkill, but then I'm really not an animal print fan, leave it to the six year olds and the girls that head out to town every night.
I don't know what it is about Burberry, I love the pure traditional Britishness of the brand that makes me proud to be British. Oh and I do love a man in suit.
What's your favourite collection from the Milan shows? And if anyone could tell me the song used on the website I would love you forever!!
